Thank you for viewing my website. I try to incorporate the three C's - color, contrast and composition - in all my paintings. I enjoy working with watercolors, soft pastels as well as acrylics, oil pastels, water soluble crayons, ink and charcoal on paper. I really love the strong colors that I can achieve when using them in combination.
I like to work fast and loose so that my work has lots of energy and immediacy. If I leave a painting for too long and don't finish it in a timely way, I lose a lot of what I'm trying to achieve. That's another reason why watercolors, pastels and acrylics work best for me.
I am enjoying doing 8x10 and 10x14 pieces that can be hung separately or put together in a group. I was in a restaurant on vacation and noticed these wonderful abstracts, all related, grouped together on the wall - dozens of them! It really caught my eye. So, if you're interested in the idea of grouping some, let me know and I'll help you select the ones that might look best together. Mats and frames usually add a minimum of 3 to 5 inches to both the width and height of these pieces. I also do larger pieces. Watercolor and pastel do not lend themselves to really large pieces, but I do work in the 24x36 inch range.
